faq + commission info

what paints and brushes do you use?

I always use oil paints from Gamblin unless I specify differently! I also use different mediums from Gamblin that do different things: Solvent Free Fluid is what I mix in for really specific detail work, and Galkyd is really good for glazing (layers of thin color washes).

what surfaces do you work with/How do you prep your surfaces/what pencils do you use/how are you sealing it?

I usually use wood panels (pre-gessoed or I will gesso it myself). I also use Ampersand Gessobord and Arches Oil Paper occasionally. I draw outlines and sketches with a dark colored pencil and seal it with a matte fixative from Grumbacher.

how long does it take you?

Usually my paintings take about a month or two and 40-50 actual work hours.

do you take commissions?

I will be open for a limited number of commissions again starting September 2018! Commission info can be found here
